Heirloomesque Hairpins

Here's another fun Holiday gift idea that is so simple!  Whip up matching hairpins using vintage clip-on earrings.

Doesn't take much for this project - just grab some bobby pins, a pair of clip-on earrings, pliers, and a tube of E6000 glue.  (Remember when I used this glue for this project?)

These vintage clip-on earrings are the perfect size for hairpins (not too heavy either).

First, you'll need to clip off the backs of the earrings using the pliers.  Make sure it's a clean cut too.  That will make it easier to attach to the bobby pins.  (You can use a metal emery board to file the area if needed.)

Put a tiny dab of the glue on the backs of the earrings and gently press the bobby pins in place.  You'll want to let this sit over night to ensure the glue dries properly.

Once the glue has dried, they're done!

  1. That's such a good idea! I actually saw some hair pins over the weekend that looked identical to the ones you just made. Making them is way better though! They're very cute!
