My best friend's birthday was last weekend and we love to party in style!
Ever have one of those friends who is your kindred spirit and/or sister friend? For me, that's Regina! (You may remember her from this post.) I made her a fascinator to wear for this occasion, but it didn't fit because of her amazing up-do.
In her ensemble, head-to-toe: dress-Victoria's Secret, bracelet-Gift from Me, shoes-Colin Stuart
Since the party included an all-girls dinner before meeting up with the boyfriends/hubbies, I wanted my look to be elegant, yet fun. So, I decided to go with this outfit that made me feel like I was going to an English garden tea party. (Couldn't resist the Kate Middleton-esque attire!)
In this ensemble, head-to-toe: headpiece-Handmade (also seen here), necklace-Refashioned (also seen here), dress-Loft, bow belt-H&M (from a coat, also seen here), bracelet-Refashioned (also seen here), tights-Loft (also seen here), shoes-Mossimo for Target (also seen here)
Fun side story about the dress: I've had my eyes on this dress since back in the fall, but I was hesitant to buy it. Even when it went on sale, I was still thinking it could have been cheaper...then, like a miracle, just last week it got marked down to $4.88! (Wow, I suppose good things do come to those who wait!) There was no hesitation at that point!
(OK, back to the main idea of the post!)
Posing with Ginny before heading to dinner...
After dinner, we celebrated at The Thaxton, a really neat building from the 1920s in downtown St. Louis with a basement set up like a speakeasy! You enter through the back alley and must give a password to get in and everything! (They even serve up legal moonshine!)
A flirty pose with some more best girlies...(You may also remember them from this post.)
On another side note, don't you just love the back of my friend Chiao's dress? Super cute, and how fitting for the speakeasy style?! It's from Zara.
