Beauty Tuesdays: What's in my bag?

Maybe the better question is, "What's not in my bag?"  Regardless, I enjoy seeing fellow bloggers document what they carry with them in their purses on the daily.  It's fun, but I also think it brings us together as women.  (I mean, most of us all carry bags, right?)  Plus, sometimes it gives me ideas about what I need to add to it, for convenience sake, of course.  After all, my bag is more than a fashion statement - it's  like my security blanket and a lifesaver.

Ensemble Saturdays: Spring Mode

Fashion seasons and the actual seasons are two very different things, in my opinion.  I can't wait for Fall and Holiday to get here because, when it comes to fashion, those are my favorites times of the year.  However, when the Spring line comes out, I am often less than enthused.  I'm just never ready for it.  I could remain in Fall and Holiday mode (Ha, get it? Mode?) forever.  However, weather-wise, I love that time right between Spring and Summer.  I don't know.  Weird.  But in retail, Spring product often gets placed before Christmas and when January rolls around, Spring is in full throttle.  So I find myself in a very perplexing situation.  To dress for winter or to dress to fit in with the new shiny product?  That is the question.  Well, today I decided to get into Spring mode...probably just today though.  Still not ready...

The other night my hubby and I met up with some friends at one of our favorite pubs (which happens to be owned by some cousins of mine) for its closing night.  We're so bummed we'll never have the scrumptious bread pudding again - truly awesome sauce!  Anyway, I wanted to dress up (especially after being sick for so long) and everything I'm wearing, except one item, is something I've already worn at least once in a post.  I wanted to show how versatile things can be when you rework them and style them differently.

Well, I am a huge admirer of Sydne Summer.  I love her sense of style and how she pieces her outfits.  In fact, her's was the first fashion blog I was exposed to a few years ago (thanks to Twitter).  So, I figured why not start with one of her looks.

I hope you all are having a wonderful start to 2012.  Unfortunately, I am still under the weather (thank you for the well wishes).  When I wasn't working, I was at home curled up in a blanket in front of the TV with cold meds and tissues.  (I also managed to have plenty of time to check out some new blogs out there!)  So, I don't have a new outfit to post today, but never fear!  It's a perfect time to reflect on last year's ensembles.  Enjoy!
